4-H volunteers work hard at the Boone County Fair

Over 200 4-H adult and youth volunteers work in many different ways to carry out the Boone County Fair.  Some volunteers work all year long as leaders of 4-H clubs (75 adults), County 4-H Council members (16 teens and 2 adults) and County 4-H Youth Committee members (12 adults and 6 teens.) Some volunteers work for several months with a project group (12 adults.) Other volunteers work a 3-hour shift in the 4-H foodstand (about 200 adults and youth.)

On Tuesday, July 17 about 75 youth and adults helped with judging in the Community Building.  Superintendents in charge of the day were Spencer Larson for Static Exhibits and Luella Miller for the Bake Sale.

During the fair Melody Bethards, Communications Superintendent, helped organize Extravaganza on Friday morning. Before fair events included Fashion Day on July 16 with Kathy Toms as superintendent and Share the Fun with Melody Bethards as superintendent. Aerospace Interest Group leaders in charge of the judged launch on July 1 were Natalie Hedlund and Kris Johansen with helpers Colton Zalesak, Aaron Swanson, Quinten Westrum, Suzanne Swanson, Mike and Spencer Toms.
