Another hot week for cross country runners

After last week’s race on a hilly, challenging Panorama course, Ogden cross country Coach Ryan Kobliska said his runners were excited to race on the flat course at River Bend golf course in Story City Thursday, Sept. 21 “The kids had to endure humidity and temperatures close to 90, but we came away with some of our best times of the season,” he said.

The high school girls continued to show signs of improvement. Hannah Booth raced with the leaders to finish 4th.

“Hannah has already run close to her personal best time several times this season – I expect she’ll have big breakthrough once we race in cooler weather,” said the Coach. Camryn Buxton also medaled with a 16th place finish. The rest of the varsity scorers ran as a pack for the first half of the race, which helped Maddie Grisham run a personal best by over 30 seconds. Kobliska feels Maddie has done a great job to close the gap on their 3-4 runners, which will solidify the team scoring as they head into the second half of the racing schedule.
