Because we are so proud of you
Local veterans were awarded individual Quilts of Valor in a special presentation on Main Street, during the Ogden Fun Days parade Saturday, June 24, 2017.
Those veterans receiving the quilts included:
WWII Veterans
Merrill Lamm, Raymond Henriksen, John Heineman, John Boehm and Harold Berg.
Korean Conflict Veterans
Raymond Kruse, Robert Powers, Dayle Heldt, Merlyn Winterfeld, Roger Eshelman, Don Crouse, Duane Townsend and Richard Vermillion.
“For your love of country, your sacrifice, and your patriotism, we thank you for your years of service. We owe you a debt of gratitude we can never repay.”
A Quilt of Valor is an award presented to a veteran . . . not a gift . . . The gift was given to us from each veteran by their service to our country. The quilts are meant to last longer than just saying “thank you”, with the intent that they will be made to last a lifetime and to be used every day.
