Boone County 911 Center shares facts and statistics on emergency calls

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office – 911 Communications Center thought it would be informative to release some monthly statistics about our call volume and work load.

Just a few fun facts about the Boone County 911 Communications Center: We currently have 9 full time dispatchers and 2 part time dispatchers.

We dispatch for all forms of emergency response for the entire county and the cities within. This includes ambulance, fire and police.

We answer all emergency and non-emergency calls for the county and the cities within.

We are responsible for entering and maintaining all wanted and missing persons records; Enhancing and maintaining all no contact orders; and Entering and maintaining stolen vehicles, articles, and weapons.

We are responsible for running the background checks for every gun permit that is issued or renewed in Boone County.

We are responsible for monitoring a 100+ view camera system, to include inmate population.

Since the year 2005, when the 911 Communications Center opened, the annual call for service volume in the center has increased by about 225%.
