The Boone County Planning and Development Office is holding a Special Passport Event at the Boone County Courthouse.  This is good news for those who need a passport but have a difficult time getting to the Courthouse during normal business hours!

The Planning and Development Office will be holding this special event on Saturday Feb. 17 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon for those needing to get a passport.   The Department also provides passport photo services on site.

Bring your birth certificate (original state sealed or certified copy) your driver’s license and personal check or money order for payment and you can file your application in just a few minutes. Payment to the US Department of State (for passports fees) must be by personal check or money order.  Acceptance and photo fees to Boone County can be paid by cash, check or card.

Passport acceptance agents from the Planning and Development Office will be on hand from 10  a.m. to 12 noon to make the process as easy as possible. No appointment is necessary and walk ins will be first come, first served. Applications can be filled out ahead of time and printed from the U.S. Department of State website at:  www.travel.state.gov

Contact the Planning and Development Office at 515-433-0550 for questions.  Applicants must appear in person, and children must be accompanied by parents as listed on their birth certificate. See www.travel.state.gov for details.
