Boys track team at Gilbert, Roland-Story

Ogden seniors returning from the annual senior trip gave the Bulldogs a boost in points last Monday, April 25 at Gilbert. Austin Lentz finished second in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Graham Tews ran the 400 meter hurdles in 59.15 and was runner-up. Derek Reutter placed second in the high jump.

While there were several second place finishers, junior Andrew Stumbo was the only Bulldog to win his event, the 3200 meter run. Lentz, Tews, Caleb Pringle and Reutter teamed up in the 4x200 relay for the best finish of the relays. The 16 teams competing in the Bengal Relays were divided into two classes. Ogden finished second in its class, behind Madrid. 

Class A teams included North Polk, Gilbert, Iowa Falls, Roland-Story, Collins-Maxwell-Baxter, West Marshall, South Hardin and Hampton-Dumont.

At Roland-Story

Andrew Stumbo won the 1600 and 3200 meter runs last Thursday, April 28 at Story City where the Bulldogs tied for second place with Roland-Story. Graham Tews ran the 400 meter hurdles in 58.67 to claim second. Derek Reutter and Tews both earned points in the high jump by placing second and third respectively, jumping 5’ 8”. 

The Bulldogs will see how they match up in their conference at the WCAC meet this Tuesday at Guthrie Center. Their regular season concludes Friday when Ogden hosts the Coed Relays.
