Bulldog baseball tacks on four more wins

Aside from the 12-0 loss to rivals Van Meter, the Ogden High School baseball team had a great week, with four wins and only one loss, bringing their total record to 8-5. They got off to a great start with a 10-0 win over West Central Valley. They then won in the first extra inning over ADM 6-5 behind a tremendous pitching effort by Zac Waterbury and Jacob Craven. The great pitching continued over into the next night with a pair of wins over Madrid behind freshman Carter Church and Nick Ross.

Ogden 10 - WC Valley 0

In a game that was decided before the seventh inning because of the 10-run-rule, the Ogden baseball team beat West Central Valley 10-0.

While Ogden didn’t hit super well, they still hit it well enough to force West Central Valley to field it and they really struggled with that as they had countless errors. That is why Ogden had so many runs on only five hits. Juniors Zach McCloud and Jaden Bell led the team with two runs. Senior Nick Ross helped them with three total RBI’s (runs batted in). Ogden was also walked four total times.

Senior Nick Ross added to his already impressive game with a great pitching effort in the shutout. He had tremendous stats, only allowing one hit and striking out 14 total pitchers. He did walk three pitchers but if he strikes out 14, I’m sure coach Dick Smith would gladly take that trade off.
