Bulldogs come from 21 down to defeat South Hamilton

For just the second time this season, the Ogden football team played away from the friendly confines of their home stadium.

But, for the first time this season, the Bulldogs found themselves in a tussle until the final horn as the squad pulled out a 22-21 victory over South Hamilton in Jewell on Friday night.

This game was full of excitement for both teams, the difference was each team could only control one half.  South Hamilton got up big early 21-0 behind a very well coached efficient offense that used up the clock. Our offense was never able to get in much of rhythm that first half until about the last minute.  Once again the offense proved it could score fast putting up a very important touchdown drive with less than a minute in that first half. In the third quarter the offense came to life with 2 touchdowns and 2 extra points to ultimately put the Bulldogs up for good.

“One thing I have talked with these boys all year is about being resilient,” said Coach Jacob Burger.  “We knew the atmosphere was going to be tough on Homecoming against a talented physical team.  Even down 21-0 our kids knew with one bounce of the ball in our favor we could comeback.  The kids did a great job concentrating on playing better each snap, and didn’t focus on that scoreboard which ultimately gave us a chance to come out on top.”
