Bulldogs learn gridiron schedule

The Iowa High School Athletic Association released schedules for the 2020 football regular season Thursday.

Ogden’s nine-game campaign with feature five opponents from last season, including three of the four non-district.

The Bulldogs will kick-off the season against Manson-NW Webster on the road August 28 followed by the home opener Sept. 4 with Woodward-Granger.

Ogden is back on the road in week three against St. Edmond in Fort Dodge and plays South Hamilton at home to wrap-up non-district play.

Ogden played Manson, Woodward-Granger and South Hamilton a year ago, and lost all three during a 3-6 campaign. Class A, District 8 play will begin Sept. 25 at Earlham followed by Nodaway Valley in Ogden – the first of three home games over the final month. The Bulldogs then host Woodward Academy, road trip to Corydon to play Wayne and have Madrid in Ogden in the season finale.

Ogden defeated Woodward Academy and Madrid last fall.

“It is a good schedule. We start the year with some familiar opponents Manson, Woodward- Granger and South Hamilton, and we play some new teams and I’m excited for that,” said Ogden head football coach Jacob Burger.
