Bulldogs prepare for conference golf meets

Bulldog Hannah Carter shot a 54 Tuesday, April 26 at Cedar Pointe in Boone and was medalist of the triangular with Van Meter and Guthrie Center. Zach Waterbury’s score of 45 was good for runner-up.

The girls edged Van Meter 251-256. (Guthrie Center was playing with just three girls). Bulldogs Kylie Nichols and Maranda Wheelock tied at 65 strokes. Christina Vinchattle shot a 67; Harlie Vinchattle, 70; and Ally Rubin, 72.

 

Van Meter boys finished with a low team score of 190 for first place. Ogden tallied 193 followed by Guthrie Center at 331.

Hunter Longnecker finished two strokes behind Waterbury, carding 47. Harry Haglund stroked 49; Jacob Kathman, 52; Jade Thompson, 56; and Jacob Hildreth, 58.

Medalist honors went to Van Meter’s JJ Durflinger with a score of 43.

 

Lady Bulldogs at Woodward

 

“The girls had an excellent showing and spirits are high coming into the end of the season,” said Coach Randy Johnson following his team’s third place finish at Woodward Thursday. Ogden finished ahead of Ballard, Panorama and Woodward-Granger. Adel-DeSoto-Minburn was winner at 202 followed by Perry with a score of 212. 

The ADM Tigers claimed medalist and runner-up honors, carding 48 and 49 strokes. Bulldog Kylie Nichols led Ogden with 51 strokes. Hannah Carter ended the day at 52. Harlie Vinchattle carded 53; Maranda Wheelock, 59; Ally Rubin, 63; and Christina Vinchattle, 66.

The girls conference meet was Monday, May 2 at Woodward (after presstime). The boys were at Perry Tuesday. Their conference meet is Wednesday at Honey Creek, Boone.
