Bus carrying Ogden cross country team involved in crash

A school bus carrying members of the Ogden cross-country team was involved in a car crash on Thursday afternoon.

The accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Highway 169, about a half mile north of Minburn, as the Ogden cross-country team was on its way to the state qualifying meet in Mount Ayr.

According to the report from the Iowa State Patrol, the bus carrying 20 members of the cross-country team was following behind a Ford Focus driven by 18-year-old Danielle Mooers of Minburn. Mooers was slowing down on the highway waiting to turn into a driveway when the bus rear ended the vehicle. None of the students on the bus, or the driver of the bus, were injured. Mooers was airlifted to a hospital in Des Moines, and there are currently no updates on her condition.
