Business Spotlight: The Scottish Fox

Do you know the feeling of warmth and comfort that comes when you wear a soft new sweater? According to Cherlyn Miner, that’s how your home should feel–warm and comforting, calm, relaxed and happy.

And she’s happy to help you achieve that goal. Cherlyn Miner is the owner of The Scottish Fox, a home décor and gift shop located at 1118 2nd St., downtown Perry.

“I have a home décor store that offers from chairs, mirrors, lamps, pictures, tables and dining room chairs up to accessories with home gift items that people can give as a gift or enjoy in their homes,” Miner said. “I also carry candles, jewelry, ponchos and sweaters. I have items anywhere from globes to tea towels, and a nice variety of home décor, from larger pieces to stage the home down to gift items.”

She also offers interior design services. Customers bring in a photo of the look they’re trying to achieve in their homes, and she turns that dream into a reality, staging the pieces they already have and accessorizing with a few pieces from her own shop for the perfect touch.

“I feel one of the benefits of coming to me instead of going to a big store and getting something off the shelf is that when you come here, I help personally,” Miner said. Shopping at a box store, it may take a long time to find what you’re looking for. At The Scottish Fox, you’ll receive service with a personal touch.

“If [customers] come in, they feel welcomed and feel at home. We help each and every one,” said Miner. “We’re glad to help them find the perfect something.”
