CC teams compete at district meet in Panora; boys advance two runners to state

Trey Thompson and Andrew Stumbo finished first and second on a muddy Panorama course for the second week in a row. This time their efforts earned them a trip to the state cross country meet next weekend in Fort Dodge.

Thompson became the first district champion in the history of Ogden boys cross country. He is also now the first three-time state meet qualifier. Stumbo followed in Thompson’s footsteps by becoming just the second Bulldog male sophomore to qualify for the state meet.

“He’s running at a high level for his age,” said Coach Ryan Kobliska. “It’s fun to see them both run so well after the hard work they put in over the summer to prepare for the season.”

The boys’ team race was highly competitive and featured four top ten teams plus last year’s #4 team at state fighting for only three state meet berths.
