A cold and soggy ending to the track season

Bulldog senior Trey Thompson and sophomore Andrew Stumbo will represent Ogden at the state track meet this coming Thursday in Des Moines. Both will be running the 3200 meter, starting at 10:10 a.m. While Thompson will be making a return trip to state, this is Stumbo’s first appearance.

Thompson finished second at the district meet in Story City Thursday, May 14 with a time of 10:14.38. Stumbo came in third at 10:14.62.

“I knew the district would be tough as far as competition and I was pretty sure that Trey and Andrew could go to state based on their times,” said Coach Rick Hamilton.  “I also felt that Graham Tews and Austin Lentz had outside shots, but things just didn’t work out.”

Girls District results

Ogden girls track coach Dena Boyd said that once the rain let up last Thursday at Story City, they had some decent runs in the season’s final meet. The distance medley team performed their best for the season cutting two seconds off their time, and Hannah Booth got her personal best while placing fifth at Districts in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:15.99.
