Craven pitches a no-hitter

Ogden baseball rode the no hit performance of Jacob Craven Monday, June 18 in a 3-0 win over the Woodward-Granger Hawks. Craven retired 21 batters striking out 6 batters in the win. Kayden Kruse collected three hits for the Bulldogs. Craven only had two batters reach a three ball count and sent down 21 batters in a row. 

The Bulldogs broke the scoreless tie in the fourth when Kruse led the inning off with a base hit. Carter Church followed with a single to put runners on second and third. A base hit by Charlie Lake scored Kruse for a 1-0 lead. Sam Christensen, running for Church, scored on a fielders choice by Wes Clausen for a 2-0 Bulldog lead. 

Ogden added to its lead in top of the seventh inning when Clausen lead the inning of with a free pass. A sacrifice bunt advanced Clausen to second. A base hit by Noah Snedden advance Clausen to third. A sacrifice bunt by Craven scored Clausen for the final 3-0 score. 

Ogden was led by Craven’s pitching performance, striking out six batters and not allowing a hit. Kruse added three hits. Mohr added a double.
