Donald Heithoff

        Donald Heithoff age 87, of Ogden died on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Dallas County Hospital in Perry.  Funeral services were held Saturday, September 27, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry.    Burial was in the Dallas Township Cemetery near Dawson.  Memorials may be given to family and may be left at the Funeral Home. Donald John Henry Heithoff was born on January 8, 1927 at Carroll, IA to Joseph and Viola (Loneman) Heithoff.  He attended Kuemper Catholic School in Carroll, IA.  Following graduation he served in the United States Army during W.W II.  He united in marriage to Gilberta Mae Stull on September 17, 1965 at Marysville, MO.  Donald worked with his father at a few bars in Carroll, the V.F.W. in Jefferson, as a steeple jack, black top work, Pinkerton guard at Jimmie Dean Meat Packing Plant in Osceola, was the Santa Claus for Perry Chamber of Commerce and Oscar Mayer for 23 years.

Donald was a member of the Catholic Church and the American Legion.  He enjoyed fishing, golf, camping, dancing, (Don and his sister Joann won a Jitterbug contest), mushroom hunting and watching every kind of sports.

Donald was preceded in death by his first wife, Eve Mae, sister, Joann Kathmann and numerous aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his wife, Gilberta Heithoff, Ogden, Iowa, children, Heidi (John Riehl) Chapin, Urbandale, Iowa, John (Kelly) Heithoff, Texas, Donna (Jim) Ruggle, Wisconsin, Cathy (Ron) Lewis, Missouri and Donald Dean (Karen) Heithoff, Alabama, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
