Expressing appreciation for a warm Ogden welcome

The Beaver Creek Wind Project has resulted in the rise of 85 wind turbines just northwest of Ogden. The onset of the project last June brought with it a mass migration of hundreds of energy company executives, project managers and highly skilled construction professionals. Most of these workers came from the four corners of Iowa as well as other states such as Minnesota, Wisconsin, Utah and Texas. Scores of those people have found a home away from home at The Lucky Pig.

One such person is tanker and equipment operator Scott Ourth from Warren County, Iowa.

“I heard that the Iowa Pork Producers named the tenderloin sandwich at the Lucky Pig “Best in Iowa.” So I went in to check it out.”

What Ourth found was a lot more than just a great tenderloin sandwich.

“I have never been welcomed with such kindness. Randy Russell (the owner) and his staff made me feel at home the minute I walked through the door. That warm welcome was extended to my colleagues as well. Just amazing. When you are working 12-hour days, six days a week, being treated like family in a small-town restaurant, is a big deal.”
