Girls kick off the season at Greene County

The Ogden High School girls’ track team had their first meet Monday, March 27 against Greene County where they got their feet wet and competed.

This Ogden track team is very young and relatively inexperienced, but according to head coach Dena Boyd, they are aiming to compete, just like they did in Greene County.

“We are young but competitive. We are going to try and not just beat our last meet time, but the girl in front of us. The girl in the race with us,” Boyd said.

Quite a few girls did that at Greene County. Hannah Booth had a great 800 time of 2:40.34 which was good enough for 6th. She also placed 6th in the 3000 meter run, two spots ahead of fellow Ogden athlete Camryn Buxton who also had a strong meet. She ended up in 6th in the 1500 meter run with a 5:50.56 time.
