Girls lose in second round

The Lady Bulldogs saw their season come to a close after a dismal first quarter led to their loss to Interstate 35.

This was a game where if Ogden wins, they keep moving towards state, if they lose then their season is over. With that said, it didn’t start well for Ogden in the first quarter. Interstate 35 came ready to play and finished the first quarter with a 22-4 lead over Ogden.

Ogden couldn’t ever fully come back from that. While the second quarter was a lot better, (outscoring their opponents 14-7), that still meant Ogden was down 29-18 at half. Interstate 35 picked up the scoring again in the third, extending the lead by 4 more points. Ogden tried to come back and did have some success in the fourth, but ultimately fell 55-46.

Ogden didn’t have the best night shooting going 18/47 from the field which pales in comparison to Interstate 35’s 20/41. With that said, senior Ellee Laws had a tremendous game for Ogden. She led the team with 16 points with Ogden’s next highest scorer coming in at 8. She added on 6 rebounds and an assist. As the programs rebound leader, she will certainly be missed.
