A great day for the Ogden grapplers

“I was very pleased with the results from Saturday’s tournament,” said Head Wrestling Coach Brian Reimers. “It was a monster tournament.”

The lone champion for the day was Kyler Kiner, but several wrestlers had outstanding performances.

Austin Flynn finished in a strong weight class in the top three and Sheldon McMain was the in the running in a tough weight class finishing fourth.

“When you have as many teams as they did and we finish in the top three behind two very good teams, it is a good day,” said Reimers.

Kolby Munson came back and finished third after getting upset in the quarterfinal round.

“He will need to make sure that he is ready to wrestle coming into sectionals,” commented Reimers. “He has what it takes to get to the next level, but will need to be at the top of his performance level to get there.

Austin Lentz finished fourth for the day, as well as Nick Ross. Shawn Heaning finished fifth in a very tough weight class.

The Ogden Wrestlers start tournament competition this Saturday, Feb. 8, here in Ogden starting at 12 p.m.
