House fire impacts family

The family of Larry and Brenda Mathews lost most of their possessions in a house fire Monday, Nov. 16 when the house they were renting at 419 NE Third Street caught fire. A benefit soup dinner was held Sunday, Nov. 22 at Zion Lutheran Church to help the family replace clothing and household items. Funds  collected (up to $1,000) will be matched by Thrivent Financial. Boxes have been placed at the church for clothing and bedding donations. Larry and Brenda have four children.
