Introducing Ogden's new City Administrator

Emily Clausen of rural Boxholm was administered the Oath of Office at the Tuesday, July 11 city council meeting and will be serving as the City Administrator, filling the vacancy left by Jane Zahasky who moved out of state.

Even after working as a clerk for the City of Boxholm over 20 years, Clausen knows there will still be a learning curve.

“As a City administrator, I’ll be spending more time on city projects, finances and economic development,” she says. “But I’m looking forward to promoting Ogden and learning the ropes.” If any questions arise Clausen knows who she can turn to - the former Ogden City Administrator, who was her classmate. The two graduated from Ogden in 1987. “I’m sure we won’t be strangers,” quips Clausen.

After 12 years, Clausen will be stepping away from the banking business. She previously worked for Security Savings Bank in Boxholm and Dayton, then two years ago when she and her husband Mark decided to open-enroll their son Wes to Ogden, she made the decision to come this direction and took a position at VisionBank.
