Jane Zahasky is named City Administrator

Jane Zahasky returns to her hometown and beginning Thursday, Aug. 18, will take over duties as Ogden City Administrator.

“I look forward to working in town and in the Ogden community. I believe we have a lot of charm here and look forward to highlighting it for others to see,” says the former OHS graduate.

Zahasky and her husband Larry had moved to Oklahoma in 2009, then four years later moved back to Ogden to be close to family, mainly her parents Jack and Norma Crosman. The move also put them closer to four grandchildren living in northeast Iowa.

The couple recently completed a major renovation to their small house in town.

Looking at her past history, we can expect Zahasky to delve right in and become very active within the community.

While working full-time at Iowa Crop Improvement Association in Ames, she initiated and continues to teach a series of fitness classes.

She previously owned a small business in the town of Cresco in northeast Iowa for four years.

“Larry and I were part of a committee that paved the Prairie Farmer Recreational Trail from Cresco, through Ridgeway, to Calmar - a 20-mile trail,” she shared. “I was also a member of the Cresco Chamber of Commerce and was president for one year.”
