Klauenberg to represent Ogden at state track meet

For the first time in four years, the Ogden girls track team is sending an athlete to Drake Stadium for the Iowa state track and field meet!

Charlie Klauenberg is that athlete as she finished first in the shot put with a throw of 37 feet and 11.5 inches, winning by 3.5 inches. She improved dramatically over her seed throw of 36 feet and 2 inches. It will be quite an experience for her as she gets to throw at Drake on Thursday.

While no one else from Ogden was able to qualify for the state meet, that didn’t mean their meet was poor by any means. In fact, they had plenty of great performances and some personal records. That allowed them to place 7th out of the 11 teams. Ogden had 52 points overall. The meet winner, host Panorama, won with 135 points.

Hannah Booth finished her track season on a good note. She has been great all season so it was nice to see her once again run well. She finished third in both the 1500 and the 3000 meter runs. In the 3000 meter run, Camryn Buxton ran her best time of the season and ended up in 4th, right behind Booth.
