Ledges State Park looks back on 2019 and forward into 2020

A new year will bring new activities and events to Ledges State Park.

On Thursday, December 19, Ledges State Park held their annual meeting in Boone to update the community on the highlights from the last year and what can be expected in 2020.

"We're coming off the heels of a campground renovation project in 2018," said Park Manager Andy Bartlett ahead of the meeting.

Last year the campground saw a major renovation, adding full utilities to 15 camp sites in the park in addition to converting some non-electric sites to electric only. This project closed the campground down for the 2018 season so 2019 was the first year to see how campers reacted to the new improvements.

The newly improved facilities seem to have had an interesting effect on camp attendance. While the number of people visiting the park this year was down by 11%, the occupancy rate actually increased by 9%.
