Local community gathers to support Sundell family

If you ask anyone from the area, Wade Sundell is a bit of a legend - a hometown hero from the tiny town of Boxholm, Iowa, who rose to the ranks of rodeo stardom after winning the title of World Champion Saddle Bronc Rider.

But, when Sundell was unexpectedly injured during a competition in August, his friends, family and community back home wasted no time planning a benefit to help pay for his medical expenses.

On Saturday, October 19th, there will be a Benefit Rodeo for Wade Sundell at the Dayton Rodeo Arena in Dayton, Iowa, starting at 5 p.m.

There will be a meal as well as bareback and saddle bronc riding, barrel racing and team roping. There will be an after party and auction at the Lucky Donkey in Boxholm starting at 7:30 p.m.

All proceeds from the benefit and after party will go to help Wade and his family with medical expenses and other needs as he recovers.
