New zero-step senior housing coming to Ogden

Ogden will be receiving a new townhome complex built specifically for those 55 and up soon. The development, deemed Cornerstone Estates, will be built in the lot behind Zion Lutheran Church.

“We’re really excited to finally be presenting this project, as it has been two and a half years in the making,” said Robin Good, one of the driving forces behind the development.

In a recent housing needs assessment by Iowa State, Ogden was categorized as in need of nearly every type of housing, including apartments, low income, 55+, and new construction. Among these, housing for seniors 55+ was the most imminent.

To meet this need, the new complex will feature a six-unit townhome style building, with each home boasting two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a 1,250 square foot floor plan. The buildings are designed to be tasteful and functional, as well as personal, allowing future owners to their choice in paint colors, carpeting, flooring, and countertops.
