Ogden Bulldogs defeat Madrid then are eliminated by South Hamilton

The men’s basketball season ended this week after an opening round win over a familiar foe and then a crushing loss.

Ogden had their first game in Story City against Madrid. It was a rematch of the game they played a week earlier in their win against Madrid, a game where they won 52-48. This one wasn’t as close with Ogden dominating the second half for a 75-54.

The first half was neck and neck, with Ogden holding a slight 29-26 lead. Ogden came out of the locker room on a mission to extend their season. They shot lights out from then on, especially beyond the arc where they went 9/18. They also shot a ton of free throws which helped extend their lead. Overall, they shot a whopping 42 free throws, making 28 of them. Those helped Ogden score 23 points in both the third and fourth quarter.

Ogden was led by Nathan Kennedy who had 19 points.
