Ogden Bulldogs spend afternoon with 1st Grade

Elementary students at Ogden Community School got to spend a special day with role models last week as part of the Iowa Hall of Pride Challenge.

The Iowa Hall of Pride is an interactive museum sponsored by the Iowa High School Athletics Association that celebrates Iowa athletes and performers. Each year the program puts on the Iowa Hall of Pride Challenge, which serves as a fundraiser for the program by inviting high school basketball teams to participate in the annual Pride Scrimmage.

To qualify for the event, schools have to take part in a community service project. For this year's project, the Ogden boys' basketball team decided to spend the day mentoring the next generation by teaming up with the first grade class.

First grade teachers Anne Lake and Leslie Hayes were happy to have the basketball players spend time with their students.
