Ogden cross country teams back after layoff

Running for the first time in nearly three weeks, the Ogden cross country teams competed twice in a four-day span. The Bulldogs first ran at the Humboldt Invitational Monday and then Thursday at the Roland-Story Invite in Story City. The Ogden boys, ranked No. 11 in Class 1A, posted a pair of strong showings.

At Humboldt, the Bulldogs captured third in a 17-team field, scoring 127 points. The host and No. 11 in 3A Wildcats were the team champions at 41 points with big school Fort Dodge second at 108. No. 14 St. Edmond was one point behind Ogden at 128.

Ogden coach Ryan Kobliska noted. “This was the boys’ highest finish at this meet since 2005.”
