Ogden girls split a pair in the tournament

The Bulldogs remain above 500 with a record of 4-3 after picking up wins over Southeast Valley and South Central Calhoun in recent action. Carroll edged the Bulldogs 6-5 here Saturday.

West Central Valley, Van Meter and Madrid are on the slate this week. The Dogs will be competing in the Woodward-Granger Tournament this Friday and Saturday.

Ogden’s Denali Loecker held Southeast Valley to three hits in a 4-0 Bulldog win Saturday, May 26 in the Ogden Tournament. 

Ogden struck early as Meredith Adreon led off with a single. Adreon scored when Hanna Dutcher singled to center for an early 1-0 lead. Ogden added to the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Faith Mohr was hit by a pitch and scored when Loecker homered to right center field for a 3-run lead. The Bulldogs finished the scoring when Gabby Ross’s double scored Amber Braniff in the bottom of the fifth.

Ogden was led by Loecker’s three hit pitching allowing one free pass while striking out 8 batters. She also had two hits including a double and a homerun. Ross added two hits including a double and Adreon had a pair.
