Ogden golf teams take the course

The Gilbert Tigers defeated Ogden girls 184 to 223 Tuesday, April 10 at Don Williams Golf Course. This would be their first meet of the season as the earlier ones were cancelled due to the weather.

Ogden was led by Maranda Wheelock who carded 47. Gilbert’s Britta Snyder was meet medalist with a score of 34. Runner-up was Tiger Katie Jenkins at 47.

Bulldog Kayla Walker stroked 49; Faith Mohr, 58; Ashton Boggess, 69; Shaylie Johannsen, 79; and Dryden Ross, 99.

 

Ogden vs. Roland-Story

Ogden JV/V girls hosted Roland-Story Thursday, April 12 at Don Williams.

Although Ogden had a medalist in Maranda Wheelock, The Norse defeated the Bulldogs 207 to 228.

Wheelock and Roland-Story’s Kaitlyn Rahfeldt both carded 49.

Other Ogden scorers were Kayla Walker, 55; Ramsey Ross and Libby Stonehocker, 62; Faith Mohr, 63; and Emalee Walker, 65.

 

Boys at Sugar Creek

Both golf and track schedules have been turned topsy-turvy these past few weeks with events being postponed, cancelled and even moved ahead of schedule due to the weather.

The Bulldogs faced Earlham and West Central Valley Monday, April 9 at Sugar Creek in Waukee, their first meet of the season.

West Central Valley came out on top with a team score of 166 and had meet medalist in Garret Caltrider who carded 35. Earlham’s Ben Clement had a low score of 36 for runner-up. His team placed second, just two strokes behind the winning team.

Ogden finished at 176, led by sophomore Ryan Nichols’s score of 41. Jacob Hildreth carded 44, followed by Preston Gronseth at 45; Jacob Kathman, 46; Wesley Clausen, 48; and Seth Bishop, 50.
