Ogden Mart opens this week

This fall when Clark’s Food Mart closed, it seemed like the end of an era for Ogden. After over 100 years, the town’s main street no longer had a grocery store. But fortunately, that sad chapter is over. Last week, the Ogden Mart opened for business once more, resurrected as nothing less than a part of the American Dream.

New owners Rup Khanal and Ranga “Govinda” Humagain are first-generation immigrants. Their dream was to open a grocery store in a small town, and when they saw a need in the community, they took it as an opportunity to serve.

The partners believe it’s important to have a grocery store in town as a convenience, so residents don’t have to drive several miles just for milk.

“The main goal for us is customer service,” Khanal said. “We … focus on that.”
