Ogden Mart owner still waiting for more information

Just over a week after a devastating fire destroyed the Ogden Mart building, the owner of the downtown store is still waiting for more information before proceeding with the rebuilding process.

Rup Khanal, who reopened the store in January of 2019 under a new name, told the Ogden Reporter that he’s still working with his insurance company and the state fire marshal’s office but doesn’t have much news to report at this point. Mayor Denny Good said he did not have any updates to provide, and the Boone County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Khanal thanked the community for its support during the difficult time and said he expects that to continue during the rebuilding process. An official cause of the fire has still not been publicly released.
