Ogden softball defeats Boone and WG; falls to Humboldt

The Bulldogs suffered a 2-1 loss to Humboldt Monday, May 21 to start the season. Humboldt’s Ellie Jacobson stymied the Bulldog hitters striking out 13 batters. Ogden collected only three hits on the night.  

The Bulldogs scored first in the home half of the second inning. Ashton Boggess led the inning off with a home run to right center field for a 1-0 lead. Humboldt responded with single tallies in the third and fifth innings for the win. 

Ogden was led by Boggess’s home run. 

 

Ogden vs. Woodward-Granger

 

Last Tuesday’s game broke open with 6 first inning runs as the local gals raced to an 11-0 win over the Woodward-Granger Hawks. The Bulldogs pounded out 9 hits in front of the home crowd.

 

Ogden vs. Boone

 

The Bulldogs struck early in Boone Wednesday for a 5-2 win over the Toreadors. Ogden was led by Denali Loecker with a strong pitching effort and two hits. Ashton Boggess also collected two hits. The Bulldogs are 2-1 for the week and face Van Meter on Friday (after presstime). Saturday they will be hosting a varsity tournament. Next week is a little calmer with a just a pair of home games, Tuesday against Panorama and Thursday against South Central Calhoun.
