The Ogden High School volleyball team went 1-4 Saturday, Aug. 26 at the West Marshall tournament in State Center. The Bulldogs defeated Prairie City-Monroe in two sets, 21-14 and 21-4.

The Dogs fell to Van Meter 15-21 and 17-21 in game three.

“We struggled at first with trying to find our rhythm and play Ogden Volleyball,” commented Coach Samantha Sperling. “We weren’t quite ourselves. There were spurts during the tournament that we played really well together and as a team and others where we let them get on a run. This was our first game of the season and we know what we need to work on to become a better team.  We have a busy week ahead of us with three games and look forward to improving.”

In 10 sets, the Bulldogs recorded, 56 kills and 51 kill errors.

The local girls recorded 149 attack attempts for 0.034 kill efficiency. They had 5.60 kills per set.
