Ogden wrestlers are 18-1; prepare for tournaments

Ogden picked up an extra three wins last week, moving their dual record to 18-1 for the season. The Bulldog wrestling squad traveled to Alleman Thursday night and took on two former HOIAC teams in Roland Story and North Polk and in addition, wrestled Woodward-Granger for the third time this season.

“We are pushing these kids toward the tournament trail,” said Coach Brian Reimers.

Ogden wrestled in the WCAC tournament Tuesday night in Guthrie Center (after presstime). They head back to Guthrie Center Saturday for the Guthrie Invite where 21 teams will compete.

There will be some really good competition there and it is a very full day,” commented Reimers. “That will be the final tournament tuneup prior to heading into Sectional tournament competition Saturday, Feb. 8 (starting at noon) at Ogden. We are really proud of these kids. They are getting better every week and that is always your hope as a coach that we can see improvement.”
