OHS students to offer special menu at The Lucky Pig

The fourth annual Ogden High School Hospitality and Tourism Management Fundraiser Night restaurant takeover at The Lucky Pig Pub & Grill will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 24.

The public is invited to enjoy a feast of special menu items including favorites from Award-Winning Pork Tenderloins, Bulldog Burgers and Fish and Chips to Ribeye Steak and Chicken Penne Alfredo – among several other mouth-watering selections.

“We use items off the standard menu, and the kids like to come up with special things they thought up,” said Doralene Abdel-Halim, Ogden High School Hospitality and Tourism Management Instructor.

“We’ve done this the past few years as a way to get kids into a work environment, teach them some skills, and show them what it’s like to work in a restaurant,” she added. “It’s great for kids to find out they probably could work here; it’s fun to do those types of jobs, get out in the community and meet people.”

For many of the students, the restaurant takeover will be their first time in a work environment. The experience empowers and prepares them for applying for their first jobs.
