With pair of tourney wins, Ogden baseball improves to 18-5

Bulldog Coach Dick Smith said he is pleased with the way his team is pitching. Cayce Good pitched 7 strong innings as the Bulldogs avenged an earlier loss to Des Moines Christian, winning 6-2 Monday, June 22. Good held the Lions to just three hits, striking out six batters and issuing only one walk. 

The Bulldogs got two hits apiece by  Treston Hagen, Allen Waterbury and Graham Tews. 

Ogden 4 - Earlham 1

 

Revenge week continued as the Bulldogs upended Earlham 4-1 last Tuesday. This time Nick Ross pitched seven strong innings allowing only one run on two hits, striking out 10 batters while walking 5. 

Good led off the home half of the first with a free pass and Brian Cole singled. Hagen singled to score. Good and Ross helped his cause with a single to score Cole giving the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead. After Earlham cut the Bulldog lead to 2-1 in the top of the second, Ogden responded. Zach McCloud led the inning off with a base hit. Good flied to center and Cole reach base on a fielding error. Both McCloud and Cole scored when Hagen doubled to center field for the 4-1 score. 

Hagen had two hits including a double, driving three runs to lead the Bulldogs. McCloud also added two hits.
