RAGBRAI bicyclists will pass through Ogden

RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) officials announced that on the third leg of the race,  Tuesday, July 24, bike riders will be passing through the town of Ogden. 

RABGRAI 2018 riders will tour Central Iowa from Onawa to Davenport and stop in college rival towns of Ames (home of the Cyclones) and Iowa City (home of the Hawkeyes. The route Tuesday encompasses 58.9 miles and takes bicycle riders from their overnight stop in Jefferson, to Grand Junction on E53. They’ll then turn north on Hwy. 144 to Dana. From Dana riders will take E26 to P70 then turn south towards Ogden. They’ll head east towards Boone, via E41 (often referred to as old Hwy. 30 by the locals).

After a “meeting” stop in Boone, riders will take a scenic route through Ledges State Park and jog down through Luther, where they connect with E57 to head eastward. R38 will take them into Ames, their next overnight stop.
