RAGBRAI returns to Central Iowa

While Ogden may not be an overnight stop for the hundreds of bicyclists looking to traverse the state this July we may still be seeing our fair share of riders in town. Overnight towns for RABRAI 2018 were announced Saturday, Jan. 27 and included in the list are Ames and Jefferson. The Central Iowa route also includes stops in Onawa, Denison, Newton, Sigourney, Iowa City and Davenport.

The 2018 Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa will take place July 22 through 28, a distance of 428.1 miles.

The last time a route featured Central Iowa towns was in 2015. Last year’s route followed near the Minnesota border from Orange City to Lansing. In 2016 bicycles rode down south beginning in Glenwood and finishing in Muscatine. 

The entire route notating specific roads and towns will be released sometime in March.
