Seeing solid performances from Ogden girls track team

The girls track team’s focus was on improvement this week and after their last two meets, it’s safe to say they accomplished that task.

In Ogden’s first meet of the week, the Kip Janvrin Invitational at Panorama High School, April 4, Ogden placed fifth with 54 points. That doesn’t tell the whole story of the meet though, as Ogden definitely made a bigger splash than those points may say.

One big example is the distance medley where Ogden placed second. Abby Kiefer came up huge in that medley where she ran a 400 in only 1:06. Then Hannah Booth got the baton and anchored where she ran a 2:39 split which is incredible. It was a tremendous effort from those two, Abbi Lentz, and Myra Bolton which gave them 8 points.

Hannah Booth didn’t just come up big for Ogden in the distance medley, she also placed second in the 1500 meter with a 5:31 time. The Klauenberg girls had a good night, with Charlie placing third and Allea fourth in the shot put. Allea also finished 5th in the discus.

Ogden head coach Dena Boyd was very pleased with how the meet went.
