Seeking public input for multi-use trails

The Boone County Trails Initiative (BCTI) is planning three public sessions in Boone County to garner input about the development of multi-use trails in the area.

“Starting in 2011, conversations began among trail enthusiasts to consider building a network of safe, multi-use trails that would connect communities and other important natural, historical, cultural and recreational entities in our county,” said Kurt Phillips, Executive Director of the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce/Convention and Visitors Bureau. “An informal group became the Boone County Trails Initiative in 2013 and raised enough money to commission a marketing piece that provided an overview of the vision and scope of what a trails network might include.”

They would like public help in deciding where to locate pathways, what they might connect and in what priority they might be built.
