A talented group of vocalists

Ogden High School will be sending a record number of  vocalists to the All-Sate Music Festival Friday, Nov. 17. The 7 p.m. concert at Hilton Coliseum will be aired on Thanksgiving weekend on PBS.

Ten of the 21 OHS students who auditioned Saturday, Oct. 21 in Atlantic were selected for the All-State Choir: Bryce Stevens, CJ Buck, Ethan Haberer, Garrett Buxton, Lennon Schriever, Hannah Dutcher, Natalie Keenan, Aidan Skalicky, Camryn Buxton and Abby Bryan. Joe Sells was named as an alternate.

The choir is made up of 600 singers - 150 of each voice part.  Only 11 percent of students audition across the state and 1% of all high school students in Iowa make it into the choir.  Preparation for this event begins in August when the state releases the seven pieces that will be performed at the festival and involves hours of diligent practice.
