Thompson records hole-in-one

The Ogden boys and girls golf teams got their season off to a great start this past week with a couple of great highlights.

The meet started at TCI Golf Course in Polk City with a triangular with North Polk, Nevada, and Ogden. The girls team placed first, with a score of 214, five fewer strokes than Nevada. The Ogden boys didn’t place in first, but they had a strong showing. They ended up with 196, good enough for second place. Nevada came in first with 161.

The girls were led by Maranda Wheelock who ended up with 50. She looked like she was going to get a 45 until a bad hole pushed her behind. She still had a great round. Kayla Walker had a great round with 55 which was a personal best for her. Total there were five Bulldogs who ended up in the 50’s.
