Throwing and distance events continue to be their strength

The boys track team had a pretty good week but the cold weather for the second meet made things tougher.

It started off at the Southeast Valley meet on Tuesday night. Ogden ended up in fourth with 80 points. South Central Calhoun placed first with 157 points. Ogden did pretty well in the field and distant events so that was the big highlight for them.

In the field events, Andrew Harberer stole the show with two personal records and two first-place finishes. He threw the shot put 45 feet and 6 inches and the discus 139 feet 7 inches. They were great throws by someone who is having a great season so far.

In the 3200 meter run, Andrew Stumbo won with a time of 9:53.80. It was almost 8 seconds faster than the next competitor. In the 1600 meter, he won again, this time by a slimmer margin. He had to lean forward, winning by less than a second. The boys also took home first in the distance medley.
