What a year it was! Looking back at 2018

For several hours, Ogden’s main street saw a neverending parade of bicyclists as RAGBRAI riders passed through town.

Ogden has had a grocery store in town for over 100 years, so when Clark’s Food Mart owner Brent Clark announced in October he would be closing the doors, the community was saddened. No official announcement has been made, but a sign on the sidewalk suggests a food mart may be opening soon.

Another top story involved bicyclists taking over the town when RAGBRAI passed through, many riders making Ogden their lunch stop. (See picture below.) It was a temporary inconvenience for many motorists, but drivers on Hwy. 169 south out of town sure appreciate the new smooth surface. The paving project took about 2 1/2 months.

The year before voters passed a bond issue that would allow for remodeling of the high school and middle school and a new 6th through 8th grade addition. By April of this year, construction was underway.
