Who will be Ogden’s 2018 Top Dogs?

The Iowa: Then and Now class is continuing the tradition. The Top Dogs Hall of Fame, started in 2016, was established to recognize Ogden alumni for outstanding achievement during or after Ogden High School. The hall also recognizes staff and coaches for their outstanding careers at OHS.

To be a Top Dog, a candidate must be nominated by the public, and then chosen by a committee who will remain anonymous to the school and community. A formal induction ceremony is then held during Homecoming week. Anyone in the community will be able to nominate an applicant for the committee to choose from. Nomination forms will be available during June and July in the OHS District Office. You can also print out, or fill out, a form online at www.Ogdenschools.org. The forms must be completed online or turned in to the district office at Ogden Community School District, 732 W Division Street, Ogden, IA, 50212 before July 31st.

In 2016, an induction ceremony was held during Homecoming, where the inaugural class of inductees was formally introduced and awarded. Lillian Kruse, Bob Morgan, Gary Paulsen, Gaile Carlson, Larry Tryon, and Jesse Sundell were the first of many Ogden heroes to be inducted.
