Mark A. Anderson

 

Mark Anderson, age 72, of 1421 West Park Ave. in Boone, died March 14, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. In accordance with his wishes, he has been cremated. 

A memorial service will be Saturday, April 12, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall in Boone with Mike Salati officiating. Burial of his cremains will be in the Bass Point Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel on Friday from 2 until 8 p.m. where the family will be present from 6 until 8 p.m. Visitation continues Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time. Mark Allen Anderson was born in Boone Feb. 27, 1942, the son of Harold and Beulah (Iles) Anderson. He graduated from Grand Community High School in Boxholm in 1961. On Nov. 16, 1962, Mark married Kathleen Graves in Boone. He worked as a mechanic, first for Groat Implement and then for Brooks Equipment, both formerly in Boone. Mark enjoyed fishing, yard work, reading, watching westerns on television, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Susan Crouch. Mark is survived by his wife Kathy of Boone; a son David Anderson and wife Sheila of Boone; three daughters, Peggy Diemer and husband Dennis of Sycamore, IL, Julie Moody and husband Kevin of Pflugerville, TX, and Mary Bamburg and husband Donnie of Round Rock, TX; a brother Mike Anderson and wife Marilyn of Pilot Mound; four sisters, Evelyn Swanson and husband Larry of Ogden, Joan Hull and husband Bill, and Jill Loudon and husband Rob, all of Boone, and Joy Cihak and husband Mike of Afton; a brother-in-law Deck Crouch of Pilot Mound; eight grandchildren: Sara Diemer, Jennifer Diemer, Allison Anderson, Hans Anderson, Jensen Moody, Brooklyn Moody, Ian Bamburg, and Erin Bamburg.

In memory of Mark, memorials may be directed to Sandra J. Schulze American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 411 Second St. NW, Rochester, MN 55901. It is a no cost lodging for cancer patients and their caregivers during extensive stay treatments. 

The family would like to thank the following for the compassionate medical care that Mark received: Dr. Sascha Parsons and the Boone County Hospital Staff, Dr. Jacob Alexander of McFarland Clinic, Rae Lynne Lay, dialysis nurse, and the wonderful physicians and staff of Mayo Clinic.
