OHS golfers hit the courses three times in past week

The Bulldogs battled through cold, windy, and rainy weather this week to win a couple of meets.

It started at Don Williams Golf Course Monday, April 10, Ogden’s home course with Earlham and West Central Valley attending, where both the Ogden boys and girls teams came out on top. They did it despite weather that started in the fifties and dramatically dropped to 45 with big wind gusts moving the ball around.

They boys team won by a tight margin. They ended up with 194, which was 5 strokes above challenger Earlham. West Central Valley wasn’t far behind with 213. The boys’ team was led by Jacob Kathman, who was the meet’s runner up with a score of 45. The Ogden boys were remarkably consistent, with the others finishing within 49-56 strokes. Every stroke was important in a close battle like they were in.

As for the girls, they demolished the competition at the triangular. They ended up with a tremendous 197. The second-place team, West Central Valley, was 92 strokes behind them. Earlham was 97 behind Ogden. This was a great meet by Ogden battling tough conditions.
